Orange pound cake
This weekend was the official wedding gift unpacking date, which involved a good amount of furniture rearranging, kitchen organization, and the shocking realization that we registered for 24 wine glasses...already planning a large wine tasting party to justify that. Since Sunday left us wiped out to say the least, I rewarded the hard work by putting some of my new pots and pans to use and mixing up this orange pound cake recipe. Within 15 minutes of baking, the cozy kitchen was filled with a buttery scent that only baked goods can emit. Paired with the warm orange syrup over the top, the cake provided the perfect excuse to stop all rearranging and crash on the couch for some dessert (even if there were still boxes lining the halls).
